August Highland

The Visual Work is called "Genre-Splicing".
The Text Work is called "V-I-R-U-S Poetry."

Bio: August Highland, born in 1957, is a 2004 Pushcart Prize Nominee (88: Journal of Contemporary
American Poetry). His text and visual work has appeared in numerous print and online journals. In
2004, his visual and text work will be published in "Exquisite Corpse", "xul : mobil-home :
manglar", "Nerve Lantern", "Riven" and other publications, will be presented at academic conferences
and will be exhibited in several countries. He makes his home in San Diego California with his wife
and daughter.

Highland has originated several new literary and visual forms: Hyper-Literary Fiction, Next-Gen
Nanopoetics, Mediated Narrative Repatterning, Linguistics Engineering, Microlinear Storytelling,
Visual Information Processing, Formal Spam, V-I-R-U-S Poetry, Genre-Splicing and Metapoetics
